These foam mats are a scientific advancement in flooring solutions. XPE foam, or cross-linked polyethylene foam, is manufactured through an innovative process involving high-pressure and heat. The unique aspect of XPE foam is its production in long sheets using a sheet extrusion machine. This technique stretches the foam over metal rollers, creating a continuous mat that can be tailored to any length. Importantly, this method does not utilize greasy release agents that could lead to a slippery surface.
In contrast, EVA foam mats are produced by heating EVA plastic and injecting it into molds. Once cooled, the foam expands and is removed, but the molds are coated with a release agent to prevent sticking, resulting in a temporary greasy layer that can impair traction during initial use.
